i was thinking for all you guys who go the kingdom hall even though you know it's not the truth,, in order to keep from loosing all your friends and family,, why not take advantage of the wt free literature at your kh?

i mean the wt is forcing you to go to meetings with the threat of being outcasted from your family why not put a little dent in their finances but getting all the free literature you can and not contibuting anything for it.

after all the wt is offering it free of charge.

Hey Dave, I did that for years. I never took money from householders and never turned any in out of my own pocket (like they also suggested). That didn't seem to work, of course I wasn't part of a well organised diabolical plot like you just layed out...LOL...it might just work!!!

Who has the slowest computer here?

i was just wondering who has, not the fastest, but the slowest computer here on jwd.. i'll start.

mine is quite slow, but as long as it goes, i'm satisfied.. i have a amd-k6 450 mhz with 256 mb of ram .

any slower computers here?

300MHZ with 328K Ram Micron PC. Got it in 1997. I added a 60Gig harddrive last year and a CDRW/DVD. I'm hoping to get a real computer this Xmas...LOL. It does pretty good for a dinosaur.

Do you know any JW's that were Disfellowshipped or Reprooved over 3 times?

a girl i work with told me the other day that she is going to the elders and ask them to "reinstate" her for the 4th time.

i told her she must be out of her mind.

why would any jw go through all of that headache?

Hey BookerT,

I don't have an answer for you. My wife's brother was DF'ed at least 3 times. I asked her how many and she said she felt 3 possibly 4, she lost count. He always marries the women he gets involved with. Then goes through a divorce and gets DF'ed. I don't know why they subject themselves to the humiliation involved in going before a JC.

I knew someone back in CT where I lived originally who was DF'ed at least 3 times and publically reproved also. He had a large family and he always seemed to get right back into it. I've recently found out he passed away a few months ago.

I personally wouldn't put myself through it again after the first time. That's why Tink and I chose not to show up at ours, it's humiliating to say the least. I hope she listens to your advice Booker.
